About

Open Framework Base Theme

Our family of Drupal 7 themes is based on Open Framework, a base theme developed here at Stanford which utilizes styles and responsive behaviors from Twitter Bootstrap. Open Framework provides the foundation for quick and easy subtheme development.

Open Framework is open source, and we are thankful to have contributions from many campus and vendor partners in the creation, maintenance, and improvement of this theme.

Quarterly Release Process

We release theme updates on a quarterly basis, and roll out the updated themes to Stanford Sites and for Drupal on Collaboration Tools Installer. Updated themes will also be available for download (by request) from this website.

Theme Development and Maintenance

Our themes are developed and maintained at Stanford, though the Open Framework theme is an open source theme with contributions from outside Stanford. This helps us develop a more robust, useful base theme that fuels our subtheme development at the university. Open Framework, and the Stanford Framework family of themes are managed by Joe Knox and Brian Young at Stanford University IT.
